● STAGE 01 · ANTICIPATE · CALENDAR, KEY K
Know the event before you trade the reaction
Gambit's calendar desk puts macro releases, earnings and crypto events on one surface. Every scheduled event carries what you need to judge the reaction: the time, the forecast, the prior value, and for a reporter the estimate and the surprise once it lands. Four sub-tabs, CURATED, EARNINGS, MACRO, CRYPTO, grouped day by day. Key k.

Why it comes first
The calendar defines what the market already knows
A scheduled event is not a signal by itself. A surprise only exists relative to an expectation, and that expectation is the forecast sitting on the row before anything prints. Gambit keeps the three parts connected, what was expected, what was reported and how the tape responded, so a headline can be read against what preceded it instead of on its own.
This is the first stage of the loop for a practical reason: a feed read without a calendar turns every number into news, and most numbers are not news. They are the number everybody already had.
The mechanism
Curated first, exhaustive on demand
The default CURATED tab is a desk-picked subset (the prints and reports that can actually move a session) grouped by day with a count per day (a single captured Tuesday held 15 events). Each macro row carries its release time in ET, the consensus forecast and the prior; each earnings row carries the reported or expected EPS against the estimate, with the surprise computed. The EARNINGS, MACRO and CRYPTO tabs widen the same surface rather than opening new tools.
A calendar entry is a handle on the rest of the terminal, not a dead date. The reporters on it are the names the earnings desk prices, 38 of them carrying a band from the at-the-money straddle on the first expiry after the report, and the ones already on your watchlist are the ones the newsfeed and your alert rules are watching.
Questions
What does the calendar cover?
Macro releases with time (ET), forecast and prior; earnings with EPS versus estimate and the computed surprise; and crypto events, across four sub-tabs: CURATED, EARNINGS, MACRO, CRYPTO, grouped day by day from the current week outward.
What is the CURATED tab?
A desk-picked subset of events judged capable of moving a session, so the default view is readable at a glance; the EARNINGS, MACRO and CRYPTO tabs hold the exhaustive lists.
Does it show expected moves for earnings?
Expected moves live one desk away: the earnings desk (key q) prices a move band for 38 upcoming reporters from the ATM straddle on the first post-report expiry, and the calendar links straight into it.
